It was the best of times...
| From Where in the world |
So here I am filling in time at LAX and am due to be back in BrisVegas on Wednesday. There's a five-hour wait (more or less) between my connecting flights. You all know what it's like. I have had the most amazing time and have so many wonderful new memories. I met so many amazing new people: from Christian's friends and family, who I am so grateful to have enjoyed time with, through to the interesting and 'fragrant' busker that I would always seem to bump into around the city.
This has been the best few months! That all said, I'm really looking forward to seeing my family and friends. I've missed you all!

The last holiday within the holiday...

The snow in Flagstaff was hard-packed and so the plan to go boarding the past weekend changed, for the better, and Plan B delivered a fantastic weekend in Scottsdale! Just next door to Phoenix, the city is amazing in all of its arid beauty and architectural design. The first day involved lots of relaxing before hitting the hotel's sky-bar, called 270 Degrees, for evening drinks; in other words, a perfect start to the weekend. For the last day we managed to laze poolside for brunch; take a 90-minute tour of Taliesin West, a Frank Llyod Wright masterpiece (designed 1937-59); go shopping at the beautiful outdoors pedestrian mall, Kierland Comons; eat at the funky Japanese restaurant, Ra, (another thing I have wanted to do on this trip); and then finish up at Fry's which is heaven for me with all of its rows and rows of electronic and gadgets. I can move fast when I want to it seems!

A balls up

Racquetball. It looked easy but actually wasn't. I thought it'd be just like squash - but with a larger racquet and a bouncier ball, again, it wasn't. Like innovators we hit to our own thump and jumped as best we could... Whatever it is that we did (and I'm sure it wasn't technically racquetball) was a good workout and I have legs of lead right now. The next step for Christian and I is to learn the rules I think. You know, "be prepared" and all that!
Oh, and PS. I suppose I could wind Christian up and tell you all that that's a picture of him in his racquet ball ensemble but... it's not.
